SyncNote gives you full control over your data. You can delete your cloud backup data at any time using the steps below.
How to Delete Your Cloud Backup Data
- Open the SyncNote app on your device
- Go to Settings (gear icon in the top-right)
- Scroll to the Cloud Backup section
- Tap Delete cloud data
- Confirm the deletion
This permanently deletes all your backed-up notes and folders from our servers (Google Firebase Firestore).
How to Delete Your Local Data
- Uninstall the SyncNote app from your device, or
- Go to Android Settings → Apps → SyncNote → Clear Data
This removes all locally stored notes, vault notes, and app preferences.
How to Sign Out
- Open the SyncNote app
- Go to Settings
- Tap Sign out
Signing out stops all cloud operations. Your local notes remain on your device.
What Data Is Deleted
- Cloud backup: All encrypted notes and folders stored in Firebase Firestore under your account
- Local data: All notes, vault notes, folders, device registration, and preferences
- Encryption key: Stored in your Google Drive app-data folder (removed when you revoke app access in Google Account settings)
Data Retention
Once deleted, your data is permanently removed. Archived (soft-deleted) notes are automatically purged after 30 days even without manual deletion.
